Post-surgery precautions
| poultice | Please apply a cold compress starting 4 hours after surgery for 7 days. Warm massage is recommended starting from the 7th day. |
|---|---|
| posture | For one week after surgery, please sleep with your head or back elevated (by placing a pillow or blanket under your head and back) with your face toward the ceiling. |
| 식사 | There is a risk of burns due to temporary numbness caused by anesthesia, so you should avoid hot food for about 3 hours after surgery. |
| Brushing teeth | You can wash your face or wipe yourself immediately after surgery, provided that water does not come into contact with the bandages or tape applied by the hospital. You may lightly wash your face and apply makeup starting from the day you remove both the bandage and tape. |
| Ttaenggimi | 1. Wear for 24 hours after surgery. (Please loosen the strap before meals and put it back on after eating.) 2. Please make sure to untie it before going to sleep. 3. Starting 24 hours after surgery, please wear it repeatedly at intervals. |
Post-surgery symptoms
| bookkeeping | Although there are individual differences, swelling may be more severe 3 to 5 days after surgery than on the day of surgery. It may appear more swollen or protruding for up to a month. |
|---|---|
| pulling sensation | Depending on the type of surgery and the condition, you may feel a pulling sensation, and the pulling sensation may differ on each side. |
| Conjunctivitis | The whites of the eyes may become red and congested as if blood vessels have burst, but symptoms usually last for about two weeks. |
| asymmetry | Due to swelling and scarring after surgery, the asymmetry between the two sides of the face may appear more severe than before the surgery, but it will improve after 3 to 6 months as the swelling and scarring subside. |
Forbidden items for one month
Alcohol, tobacco, public baths, steam baths, saunas, use of swimming pools, strenuous exercise (gym, jogging, hiking, etc.)
Rhinoplasty
Post-surgery precautions
| poultice | Please apply cold compresses for one week starting immediately after surgery. Place a piece of gauze on your skin and put a hot pack on top of it. Do not place the hot pack directly on your nose; instead, place it around the nose area so that the cold air reaches that area. |
|---|---|
| posture | For one week after surgery, please sleep with your head or back elevated (by placing a pillow or blanket under your head and back) with your face toward the ceiling. Please also avoid habitually lowering your head or lying face down. You must maintain a straight lying position while sleeping. This is because if it is not maintained, the nose may be pressed to one side, causing the position of the implant to shift or the corrected area of the osteotomy bone to be compressed by pressure, leading to deformation of the shape. |
| 식사 | On the day of surgery, it is recommended to refrain from eating or drinking for about an hour after the operation. After that, there are no restrictions on the type of meal. However, those who have undergone general anesthesia for rhinoplasty are advised to wait 4 hours before eating. |
| face wash | You can wash your face properly starting the day after the visible stitches are removed. If washing your face is difficult, you can gently wipe it with a wet towel. (The cotton inside the nose is removed on the 1st or 2nd day after surgery, and the cast and stitches are removed around the 7th day.) |
| Head wrap | If you wrap it so that it does not come into contact with the surgical site, it is possible even immediately after surgery. Hair salons recommend washing your hair by tilting your head back. If you wash your hair by bending forward, you can do so starting from the time you are able to wash your face. |
| Other daily life | Slightly vigorous exercise or massage around the nose is possible after at least 3 months have passed. If you sneeze, you must keep your mouth open for two weeks. |
Post-surgery symptoms
| Swelling and bruising | Swelling is worse the day after the surgery than on the day of the surgery. The swelling continues for another 2 to 3 days in this state, and then gradually subsides. Bruises also fade in proportion to this. Bruises usually last for about two weeks. |
|---|---|
| of the incision line red scar |
It lasts for three months and eventually becomes much less noticeable. |
| asymmetry | Everyone has slightly different sizes or shapes of their nostrils, but in severe cases, swelling can make the difference in size or shape between the two nostrils appear particularly noticeable compared to before. |
| Hardness of the nose | The scar tissue usually lasts for about 6 months, but if the condition is severe for a certain period, the time to recovery can be accelerated with injections that soften the scar tissue. |
| nosebleed | It is normal to have nosebleeds for about 2 to 3 days after surgery. Please gently spit out any blood that flows down the back of your throat, and if blood comes out of your nose and flows, please gently wipe only the dripping blood with a tissue. |
| Nasal congestion | Up to 3 months, symptoms such as nasal congestion and stuffiness may occur due to swelling of the nasal mucosa. |
| of the incision line pulling sensation |
A pulling sensation around the incision line occurs due to scarring. At this time, if frequent stimulation is applied, such as laughing too loudly or moving the mouth to speak, the scar tissue may remain poorly. |
